The main objective of this conference is to trigger a reflection on the infrared science, but also on the infrared facilities that we have used in the past decades, and even more importantly that we will use in the next decade, including of course PRIMA. We will organize this 3-day conference and keep open discussions to allow participants to speak and exchange idea in small groups on pre-identified themes.
PRIMA's core science program addresses three themes:
Beyond this core program, 75 % of PRIMA's science time will be dedicated to general observers (GOs). A paper describing a sample of these possible GO Science Cases has been compiled in Moullet et al. (2023). A new update and enhanced version of this paper will need inputs from the wider community, covering all science cases, for instance:
Cosmic Ecosystems
Revealing the Role of Cosmic Magnetic Fields
Star Formation in the Time Domain
Exoplanets and Brown Dwarf Atmospheres
Origins of Earth's Water
Do we wish a very large IR sky survey with PRIMAger?
Discovery Potential
Anything we did not think of, yet
Finally, this conference will be the place to discuss synergies with other facilities that could complement PRIMA both in wavelengths (from the most energetic ranges in gamma-rays or X-rays to the radio), but also by observing the sky with different spatial or spectral resolutions (e.g., JWST, ALMA, ELT).
